We're back from California

Well we survived our long drive to and from San Francisco. Even though on our way home we were stuck in Wells, Nevada for awhile because some psycho threatened the police that he had a bomb in his car and they shut down interstate 80 for four hours. I was just happy that Dean did so well in the car for so long.
We went out there to visit with Rob's family(he is from the bay area, Martinez). We went with a plan this time I didn't want to sit around the entire time. We stayed in a hotel because it was closer to some of the things we wanted to do and Rob and Dean wouldn't do well with My mother in laws cats in the house. I liked it because I didn't feel like I was intruding on anyone's space.
Well the first full day that we were there we went to the Monteray Bay Aquarium. There were alot of things to do and see there It was very kid friendly too. Dean really liked it even though he would run from one thing to the next.

The next day we went to this fun little place called Coyote point. it was sort of a museum/zoo for kids. They have the oldest otter in the nation. He is 21 years old most of them only live to be 10 to 15 years old. Dean had fun with some of the hands on things in the museum.

The next day was Sunday and we went to church with Rob's mom then spent the day at her house. On Monday we went to Muir woods and looked at the redwoods. They are very pretty. Dean had a blast running down the path and getting attention from all the other guest. I saw my fist banana slug. I guess it was strange that I had never seen one before.

On our last day there we went to the beach. you can't visit California with out going to the beach. I was excited because it was the first time it was actually warm at the beach when I have gone out there. Dean didn't like walking in the sand with out his sandals on and didn't like the sand in his sandals. He sat on the edge of the blanket and played in the sand that way. He loved watching the waves too.

A day on the wild side!

We went to the zoo on Wednesday. We've gone every year sense Dean was born and it gets better every year. I love to see him get excited to see animals that he recognizes. The best reaction this year is when we came around a corner and he saw the giraffe's. He started to yell "giraffe giraffe" and started to take off running. He also liked the zebras and monkey's. Of course we can't for get to ride the train. we saw the elephant show and learned that one of the elephants is almost done with her 22 month pregnancy (I'm so glad I'm not an elephant) I think Dean had fun even though he was suffering through allergies. He and cousin Ty were wiped out on the way home.
